Kuniba-Ryu of Myrtle Beach

Diego Bermejo, Sensei is originally from Argentina, where he began his training in 1985 in Shorin-Ryu.  In 1995, he earned his 1st Dan in this art, and continued in this art under his Sensei in Argentina, Mario Zagarra.  Several years after earning his 2nd Dan, he moved to the United States and continued his training in Goju-Ryu Karate under John Smith, Sensei in Hilton Head Island, S.C. 

In 2003, he was promoted to 3rd Dan in Goju-Ryu, and shortly thereafter moved to the Myrtle Beach area.  

We are extremely proud of Diego because of his dedication to the Kuniba-Ryu art.  He began the Children's Classes at our dojo in 2011, and currently teaches children ranging in age from 3-11 years old.

Because of his dedication and hard training, Price, Soke promoted Diego to the rank of 2nd Dan as well as appointing him to the position of Sensei in Chikubu-Kai. 

The Myrtle Beach Dojo as well as Chikubu-Kai are lucky to have Diego as an example of a fine practitioner, student, teacher, and friend.
